Day 1: Today we were told that we have a trip that is 100 percent confirmed. This news inspired all of the deck hands because most people have been working on the boat 60 hours a week since the beginning of September. All of the the work that we did  was preparing for the trip at the end of the week. Some of the work included; Find trolling rods, Clean the rails, clean the bunk rooms, clean the fish holds and bait tanks. This is some on the small things that people on the boat notice when they ate on a overnight fishing trip. This is important because this will be the tributes first fishing trip and we want to be very clean and give the guests that are fishing a great time.

Day 2: Last night the fresh water converter pump broke. This is a big part of the boat because the showers the toilets, and  sinks need fresh water. The way we approached this problem is by;checking the wiring because we thaught that miight be the wiring so we replaced all of the wiring to and from the pump, then we thaught that the problem might be with the plumbing to and from the pump after we confirmed that the plumbing was not the issue we tried to take the pump apart to see if it was assemble incorrectly. We took it apart and realized the pump was not put together incorrectly. Since te trip was coming up on Friday we didn't have enough time to figure out the problem so we bought a new fresh water filter and pump.

Day 3: Today is Wednesday an the trip is in two days. Today we took the boat out of the harbor a we tested everything on the boat from sinks to the fish hold sprinklers to bait tanks to the steering to the fish pumps. After we checked everything on the boat and made sure that everything works correctly. We went back in to the harbor to dock up. When we docked up we calked every crack on the boat because if there cracks on the boat water can get in to the crack and then it can rot the part of the boat. Working on one of last boats that has is 100 percent wood water inside the boat is not a good thing. We used water proof calk everywhere on the boat where wayer might not get wet, like tr kitchen the bathroom the bunkrooms ect. We used 5200 calk which is a water proof calk. We put this calk in the places that would get wet like under the rails on the outside of the rails along the bait tanks and along the fish holds.

Day 4: Today we finished everything on the boat. And everyone has crew and guests has to be at the boat by 7 o'clock tomorrow night.

Day 5: Tonight we are going fishing and it will be a long 2 days. This is my first time that I am working on a fishing trip. First off we went to the bait dock and got equal amounts of anchovies and sardines. When we were filling up the all 6 bait tanks on the boat there wasn't much for the guests to do because it took us about an hour to fill up all of the bait tanks. Each bait tank holds about 35 scoops of bait. Each scoop of bait holds 12-15 sardines and 15-20 anchovies.

Day 6: Today we woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning to string all of the troll rods set up all of the troll Rods and get trolling. We use trolling to catch Fisk thg might be at kelp beds. When we catch a fish on one of the troll rods it tells us that there are fish where we are. When we fish we target yellowtail. And since yellowtail travel in schools when we get a hook up on one if the troll rods that tells everyone on the boat that there fish around us. We we fish the kelp beds we don't want to stay at one kelp bed all day because the fishermen will catch there 5 fish limit sooner. But if we stay at one kelp bed for 15 min then we find another one. The fishermen will be fishing for a longer time. After everyone catches ther 5 fish limit we tag the fish with a number corisponding to each fisherman. We then put the fish in the fish holds who's sprays 35 degree water on the fish to make sure the fish stays fresh. Hen everyone catches there limit we take all of the fish out o the fish holds and we then Fillet the fish. It took us about 3 and a half hours to fillet the fish and bag the fish. We ended up going to bed at 2 am and woke up at 5 the next morning when we were done with the trip.
